Free internet for all

Competition among mobile operators has made the internet fees less expensive than before year 2015. Needless to say, some of the users always run out of data plans since they have exceeded the quota allocated or perhaps they do not have sufficient credit balance. It will be much easier if the internet is free for all as a matter of necessity, and at this age to have an uninterrupted basic internet network is inevitable. The operators may have set a different usage of data plans without compromising the basic internet mobile data.

Internet should be free for all. A developed country must have first class ICT infrastructure and this includes access to uninterrupted internet services. The operators may be able to control the usage at any interval as needed (Just-in Time) by their clients and this extra service can become a competitive edge for them since clients need customer care service at all times. The underlying issue is that some basic internet data is blocked entirely when the users exceeded their quota without realising that they need data plans without any obstruction.

The reasons behind the need to champion internet free skies are twofold. First, money can be saved due to exorbitant internet data charges by many telco providers. The extra money saved can be a huge factor for clients to switch to free wifi and internet data plans which shall make the books of the telcos themselves become red. Whenever clients’ internet access are barred due to exceeding limit, their phone applications or devices become idle and some data have gone missing (worst, irretrievable). Consistency of data privacy and security is at stake.

Second reason is that besides security and privacy of data, many telcos or internet service providers are charging contract rates which are beyond the affordability of their clients whereby their purchasing power is not determined by how much they can afford to pay for the internet charges, but by how they are supposed to be paying either by way of pre-payments or post-payments. And this will not be uninterrupted since telcos need uninterrupted cash inflows for their survival. These hidden negotiations aggrieved by their clients are not taken into account when telcos are doing their own ways to recouping outstanding debts owed by their clients.

Frustrated as it may seem to be, clients are always at the losing end since their data and privacy shall not become an integrity concern, but rather as a commodity which may be transpired through the invention of data transparency system cynically termed as C-tos. And the myths behind the above invisible non-affordability alert system for non-payment; is such a nuisance should their clients are doing business which are prone to be trailed by those telcos and their counterparts. Nobody can see the trade-off here as favourable not even in an abstract of its own.

Extraction of information for education purposes would require full internet service and most local libraries provide free internet services. Outside the libraries, users can always access to mobile data through their handheld devices, but the restriction is to the internet data plan which is interrupted upon expiry of the subscription or when they have exceeded their quota. The above justifies how important it is that internet should be free in view of the acquisition of knowledge and education per se.

Online businesses must be supported by full and uninterrupted internet service. It must be noted that everyone can become a businessperson in this millennium by selling and buying products/ services online without knowing they are actually transacting a sale or purchase. Malaysians are encouraging their people to do businesses apart from their full-time job as businesspeople in their offices. A cynical viewpoint is that many of the people in the offices are doing businesses by word of mouth which are not online in its entirety, but faster than online business in its diversity. Examples are in foreign exchange transactions, some of them are selling cakes and cookies to their peers, and surprisingly some more people have become insurance agents asking others (individuals and corporations) to become their clients, otherwise they would be sidelined by their “internet mobility [or mobile CNN] factor”*.

Online banking for instance must have uninterrupted internet service to affirm the above.

Family and friends are online communicators for whatever reasons they might be. Their existence is the fabric of all the need for human interaction and affection. Free calls and SMS charges are exclusive rights for all the clients for telcos; nonetheless, competition is indeed a pressure for all, in view of the supply and demands for all business ventures.

It is surprising to note that not just corporations and governments are doing their research and development programmes online, individuals are also now learners who develop their own R&D analyses and theses in upgrading personal growth and invention, entrepreneurial and business, marketing and they are writing high quality précis hitherto, for their fans and readers such as found in their blogs and personal websites.

People have not frequented libraries as often ever since the advent of e-library in the net. Easy retrieval of information for their references and quotations in studies and businesses have transformed the way they communicate among themselves, in pursuit of saving time and to look just good in their appearances and articulation. Have you ever wondered an erudite person is the product of learners of internet libraries? Well, many learners or businesspeople would only cut and paste data and information provided by the internet for their convenience. So free internet is such a demand that is so putrid in its sense when the above is dissected.

People may create their own profiles online. Jobseekers would gauge their level of employability spectrum, when their network is expanded through research by their future (and shockingly current) employers. If people have got great inventions or IDEAS, nobody knows exactly what’s in store for leveraging the ‘utilisation’ of prominent investors’ funds or finding business partners to be. Just be careful with online tricks and online businesses which are prone to hacking and industrial espionage.

“internet mobility [or mobile CNN] factor” implies the grapevines mobility which exist in the office politics and social media which is faster than the internet speed itself. (Definition is entirely mine.)

P/S: I tried to download a few pictures but non-compatibility of OS and also acceptance by other devices therefor, limited the downloading. Not nice to ask people to give you presents all the time, right? Thank you for your support.
